Vice President of Business Development

Our client is a market leader in Diagnostics and one of Europe’s biggest suppliers of lab services with a fast-growing CRO business supporting pharmaceutical and biotech companies with drug development and the running of clinical trials.

The Head of International Business Development is a newly created position to support our client’s overall business objectives. The purpose of the role will be to drive continued growth within their international CRO business; the successful candidate, therefore, will have the relevant sales management experience and thorough industry expertise.

Main Duties:

  • Optimise and grow European sales presence and performance
  • Coordinate and drive sales initiatives, generating additional business with pharmaceutical/biotech companies and other CROs
  • Identify opportunities for business growth, including relevant acquisition targets
  • Utilise dedicated BD and Sales teams, providing support and leadership to develop workforce

The ideal candidate will have/be:

  • Educated to a degree level in a Life Science discipline, preferably with an additional Business qualification
  • A minimum of 5 years of sales management experience from an international CRO
  • Substantial experience of successful, complex B-2-B selling
  • Results orientated with excellent business acumen
  • Entrepreneurial spirit, taking responsibility for the generation of results
  • Highly organised, focused with the ability to set clear priorities and objectives
