Star OUTiCO, a market-leading provider of outsourced digitally enabled commercial services to the pharmaceutical industry and part of the global Uniphar Group, has launched a new brand identity to communicate to the market the key capabilities and strengths of the combined entity.
The two businesses have been working closely as part of the Uniphar Group’s Clinical & Commercial Division since 2017 specifically to help pharmaceutical and healthcare companies make a commercial impact, adapt to a world that is changing at pace and accelerated further given the impact of COVID-19, and ensure clinicians and patients enjoy better outcomes.
Star Medical was established in 2002 and built a sterling reputation as a recruiter for pharmaceutical sales, marketing, medical devices and market access roles at all levels. Acquired by the Uniphar Group in 2015, Star has gone on to be the leading provider of insight-driven commercial sales solutions for the industry.
OUTiCO, founded in 2010, was the first multichannel sales company communicating with Health Care Professionals (HCPs) via their preferred sales channel. In a fast-changing commercial environment, this multichannel approach to brand engagement allowed OUTiCO to exceed client expectations, improve commercial outcomes and lead the way in this space.
The Group brought OUTiCO into the Uniphar fold to complement Star Medical, with the two businesses together offering the market a digitally enabled, comprehensive outsourced sales service proposition, to boost clients’ brand engagement at any and every stage of the commercial lifecycle.
The new Star OUTiCO brand was previewed to team members on 14 September before being unveiled to the market and broader public on 16 September.
Graham McIntosh, Managing Director, Uniphar Commercial and Clinical Division, said of the launch of the new brand, “It has been an exciting time for everyone since our integration and the formalisation of our combined identity cements the many synergies we have already seen emerge to the benefit of both our internal operations and the sales impact we make for our clients.
“COVID-19 has shown that the pharmaceutical industry can embrace new technologies very quickly. Before and during COVID-19 our digitally enabled sales approach has helped our clients make a commercial impact and we’re excited to help our partners further grasp the opportunities presented in such a rapidly evolving healthcare environment”.
“There will be winners and losers, so it is down to us to ensure our current and future partners are equipped with the right digitally enabled sales solutions, not only to deliver an impact but to ensure that, rather than a one-off occurrence, impact is a sustained process.”
Star OUTiCO has invested heavily in its digital capabilities, with its own in-house experts designing and constructing the proprietary AXiOM platform to gather real-world programme data from multiple sources.
AXiOM is now a key instrument for the business in adding commercial and clinical value in five core areas – Sales Solutions, Patient Engagement Services, Recruitment Solutions, Healthcare Solutions and Product Fostering – that enable Star OUTiCO to add impact for their clients with 360° ‘wrap around’ services for the entire product lifecycle.
The Sales Solutions arm uses intelligent service design to develop and deploy multi-channel growth strategies that engage HCPs on their own terms to build relationships and optimise commercial impact.
The Patient Engagement team, registered with the Care Quality Commission, draws on both behavioural science methodologies and the AXiOM platform to design and deliver in-person and remote care and patient monitoring in ways that target engagement, accessibility and patient preference.
Recruitment Solutions take in both resourcing and outsourcing, and pioneer ground-breaking digital techniques to identify individuals with the qualities required to make a commercial impact in line with clients’ objectives, and to place candidates in roles that keep their career goals on track.
Healthcare Solutions are again optimised by AXiOM to interface seamlessly with the NHS. Enhancing product mobilisation and accessibility, Star OUTiCO gives clinicians clear visibility of effective care pathways for patients from the initial point of consultation.
Product Fostering enables clients to draw on all of Star OUTiCO’s services and other elements across the Uniphar Group to use bespoke supply chain arrangements. The most appropriate services are used to drive continued product growth and return on investment throughout its commercial journey, removing risk from pharmaceutical companies and allowing them to focus on other strategic assets.
Star OUTiCO takes a consultative approach to build client relationships and understand its partners’ fundamental commercial drivers and objectives. As a long-term strategic partner, the business implements intelligence-led solutions, powered by AXiOM, that deliver improved outcomes and sustain impact.
