Managing Director of Star OUTiCO Nordics, Helena Nyrén, has been putting her background as a Registered Nurse to good use, helping to vaccinate patients against COVID-19 at Karolinska University Hospital.
Focusing on at-risk patients including those who have recently undergone transplants and are immunocompromised, Helena has been volunteering at the Stockholm hospital since April and will be continuing to give as much of her free time as she can over the summer until the Phase 4 vaccination scheme has been rolled out in Sweden.
Helena said: “Even though it’s over 30 years since I worked as a Nurse, I felt it was my duty to help out the community and contribute to ensure that as many Swedes are getting their COVID-19 vaccination as soon as possible. This is critical to be able to open society again, hopefully during or the end of this summer.
“It’s so inspiring to see all the Healthcare Professionals involved in the vaccinations and what a tremendous job they all are doing, and the patients and people that are getting their first jab are so grateful and very much appreciate what you do.
“I’m happy to be able to contribute when I can, and feel it’s very important that we all try to support whenever we can and give back to the society.”
