Point of Care is an Irish healthcare organisation providing a wide range of enhanced community care initiatives that allow patients to be cared for in a way that is a more comfortable and cost-effective alternative to hospitalisation.
What do we do?
Our mission is to transform the way patients experience the delivery of care in a community setting.
We provide face-to-face, virtual in-person and digitally-enabled services to help our clients achieve their objectives of increasing patient engagement and improving outcomes.
Patients’ health and wellbeing is our primary focus, and we constantly strive to bring healthcare closer to home and improve accessibility.
Our services are underpinned by a number of specialised departments, including Operations, Care Coordination, Pharmacy / Dispensing, Distribution, Nursing, Waste Management, Quality and Pharmacovigilance.
The Point of Care nurse network includes a national team of both syndicated and dedicated nurse advisors, supported by a Nurse Management team, providing administration, training, education and support for:
- IV Services (e.g. OPAT, Immunoglobulins, Parental Nutrition)
- Self-administration training and support (e.g. Subcutaneous and Intramuscular therapies)
- Patient Adherence Programmes
- Medical Device Training
- Managed Access Programmes
- Early Access Programmes
- Cannulation (including management of Central Venous Access Devices)
